300 Lytton presented a fantastic opportunity to redefine a corner lot in a prestigious Toronto neighbourhood and create a tranquil family home. 300 is organized around a central spine that defines the circulation space within the home and forms a clerestory window condition allowing light to permeate into the entire volume. The composition of solid limestone masonry units and void, glazed elements sandwich the central, vertical atrium and are all tied together with the horizontal overhang with defines the home’s entry and acts as a unifying element between the two halves. Dramatic interior volumes vary between areas of compression for more relaxed functions and open, double-height spaces in gathering and entertaining spaces.
